Namibia 2026
A play tower, outdoor classroom, food forest with more than 100 trees and a sustainable water system were created in Dordabis.
A landscape for learning and everyday life
About an hour south of Windhoek lies Dordabis. At Start Smart Dordabis, around 100 children aged four to 14 learn, play and grow. From 3 to 25 January 2026, we developed the outdoor grounds together with children, teachers, local contributors and our project team.
An outdoor classroom, play spaces and a food forest combine education, healthy food, biodiversity and community. More than 100 trees and woody plants will provide increasing shade and improve the microclimate as they mature.
Water is essential
Under Namibia’s dry conditions, planting can only succeed with careful water management. Rainwater collection, storage and sustainable irrigation are therefore central to the project and to the long-term development of the site.
