From an empty plot to a lively meeting place

A place built together in Jinja

In January 2026, a play and learning landscape was created in Jinja for the children of an orphanage and children from the surrounding neighbourhood. Within three weeks, an empty plot became a lively place with towers, bridges, swings and a zip line.

The project was built together with local contributors. Today the site is used for play, learning and meeting others. The shared construction process was as important as the finished structures: knowledge, ideas and responsibility were exchanged directly on site.
