The current association members are also its founding members. They bring different professional experience and personal perspectives from landscaping, social entrepreneurship, law and organisation.

The idea for Social Landscaping grew out of earlier experience with social construction projects and the wish to combine practical skills with social engagement.

Dr. Bettina Schmaltz

Board member · Founding member

As a lawyer, she contributes legal expertise and many years of voluntary engagement. She already supported the first project in South Africa as a client and sponsor.

Matthias Mannes

Founding member · Board member in the early years

Matthias served on the board in the early years and played an important role in the development of Social Landscaping. He took part in many of the projects and helped organise and prepare them.

Jakob Schlichtig

As a social entrepreneur and co-founder of AMANDLA gGmbH, he brings many years of experience in educational and social projects to Social Landscaping.

Sebastian Lohmann

Landscape gardener · Founding member

He took part in the South Africa project in 2019 and combines practical landscaping experience with personal social engagement.

Julius Bodler

Landscape gardener · Founding member

The South Africa project first brought him to Höfer Kraftorte. His interest in other cultures and creating things together later led him to join the association.

She contributes experience from voluntary legal advice and association work, particularly in matters of structure, organisation and law.
